Nick Florence |
Nick Florence displayed instant success when he led his freshman team to a perfect 10-0 record. Then, Florence became starting quarterback midway through his sophomore season. He then proceeded to guide the Colonels to three straight playoff appearances, and helped South Garland advance to the region semifinal round for the first time in school history.
As a junior, Florence helped South Garland by leading them to the playoffs for a second straight season. Then he closed out his high school career by leading the Colonels to a district title and a first round playoff win over Wylie.
Florence passed for over 8,000 yards and 87 touchdowns as a three-year starter for South Garland, while breaking ten G-I-S-D passing records. His success on the field was rewarded with an athletic scholarship to Baylor University.
Florence graduated second in his class with a 4 point 6-6 G-P-A and was recently named Christian Athlete of the Year for the state of Texas.
