Sam Brady

Samuel D. Brady has been actively involved with Pony Baseball since 1961, and as Region Director for Northeast Texas, West Texas, and Oklahoma since 1978, he has led in the tremendous growth of the youth baseball program. He initially served as a Pony Baseball team coach for seven years, 1961-1967, and in 1968 was president of the North Garland Pony League and business manager for the district championship team. Sam became a Garland/Dallas Area Director for Pony Baseball in 1968, and in 1972 he advanced to become the Section Director for the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. During his service, he has led the growth of the Garland and Dallas Suburban Area programs from four leagues of 24 teams involving approximately 340 boys and girls to 26 leagues with 1,013 teams involving some 13,000 boys and girls and 144 tournament teams. Sam's accomplishments in Pony Baseball resulted in his being presented the Joe E. Brown Award, Pony Baseball's highest honor, in 1986. He has been pictured in the Pony Baseball National Headquarters Wall of Fame since 1983 and earlier had been named Director of the Year in 1981. He was named Assistant to the Vice President of the Pony Baseball South Zone (11 Southern states, from Texas to Florida) in 1984, and he also assisted in directing the Pony Baseball World Series in Washington, Pennsylvania in 1981, 1989 and 1991.
